If my ex’s holiday parenting time takes precedence over what would have been my regular time, can that be made up?

No, unless for some reason you agree to that. This issue is addressed in some of our local courts’ parenting-time guidelines.
According to the St. Clair Friend of the Court Parenting Time Guidelines:
Holiday and summer parenting time takes precedence over regularly scheduled parenting time. When the holiday or summer parenting time concludes, the regular parenting time schedule will resume as if it had not been interrupted.
Similarly, Ingham County’s Guidelines say:
If holiday and school break parenting time abuts a parent’s regularly scheduled parenting time, the parenting time shall be continuous. Holiday and school break parenting time shall take precedence over regularly scheduled parenting time and may result in one parent having two or more weekends in a row.
Note that these explanations apply generally to all cases under Michigan law, not just to those respective counties.
